Benefit Advisor Value Appraisal (BAVA)

ArlenGroup's Benefit Advisor Value Appraisal (BAVA) provides you with a quantifiable means of evaluating the performance of your employee benefit consultant or broker in the areas of benefit brokerage and consulting and, optionally, benefits administration outsourcing. The appraisal, which takes 5-10 minutes to complete, consists of three simple steps:

  1. Importance Ranking - What qualities or services are important to you in a benefit advisor?
  2. Performance Ranking - How does your current benefit advisor perform in those areas?
  3. Results - A summary report that you can print.
The BAVA evaluation criteria were developed from input from a variety of employers whose benefits plans cover as few as 50 and as many as 15,000 employees. ArlenGroup initially developed BAVA to obtain feedback on our own performance as employee benefit consultants. In using it, we realized that employers in general would benefit from using this tool to evaluate their own benefit advisors.

ArlenGroup uses BAVA evaluations to:

  • Assess Client Needs and Satisfaction. On a regular basis, we ask our clients to evaluate ArlenGroup's performance as their benefit advisor. This not only ensures that we know whether we're meeting our clients' expectations, but also provides a vehicle to stay current with what's important to our clients.
  • Measure Performance Guarantees. ArlenGroup guarantees we will meet or exceed client expectations in the overall delivery of employee benefit consulting and brokerage services. The BAVA tool is used to quantifiably measure our performance.
  • Influence Employee Compensation. BAVA results are directly tied to the annual performance review of any ArlenGroup team member whose job requires interaction with clients. A percentage of the employee's incentive compensation is dependent upon the overall satisfaction of the clients that employee serves.
